Chapter 1 — Purpose of the cookie and other trackers policy
1.1 Purpose
The purpose of this Policy is to inform Entraide Maritime users about the use of cookies and other trackers on the platform. It sets out their purpose and the options available to users to accept, refuse or customise their use.
1.2 Scope
This Policy applies to the Entraide Maritime website and to its mobile applications and any other digital interface offered by Entraide Maritime. The term “trackers” refers in particular to cookies, identifiers, local storage technologies, SDKs and other similar technologies that may be used depending on the platform concerned.
1.3 Principles of use
Entraide Maritime limits the use of trackers to those necessary for its services to operate or to purposes clearly presented to the user. Where the regulations require the user’s consent, the tracker concerned is used only after that consent has been obtained.
Chapter 2 — Strictly necessary cookies and trackers
2.1 Purpose
Entraide Maritime uses the cookies and other trackers strictly necessary for the operation, security and normal use of the platform. They may in particular be used to:
- Keep the user signed in to their account;
- Provide authentication and security;
- Remember certain essential technical choices;
- Prevent fraud and abnormal use;
- Ensure that essential features work correctly.
2.2 Consent
Where these trackers are strictly necessary to provide the requested service or for the secure operation of the platform, they may be used without prior consent, in accordance with the applicable regulations. They are not used for advertising or profiling purposes.
2.3 Disabling
Disabling certain strictly necessary trackers may prevent some Entraide Maritime features from working correctly, in particular signing in, account security or access to certain services.
Chapter 3 — Audience measurement and statistics
3.1 Purpose
Entraide Maritime may use audience-measurement trackers in order to better understand how the platform is used and to improve its services. They may in particular be used to analyse, on a statistical basis, traffic, the features used, technical performance and any errors encountered.
3.2 Tool used
To date, Entraide Maritime uses no audience-measurement tool. If such a tool were put in place, it would be named here and would be activated only after the user’s consent.
3.3 Consent
Where the audience-measurement trackers used require the user’s consent, they are activated only after that consent. The user may refuse these trackers without losing access to the essential features of Entraide Maritime.
Chapter 4 — Social media and external content
4.1 External services
Entraide Maritime may embed features or content from external services, in particular social networks or platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn or YouTube. These services may use their own cookies and other trackers in accordance with their respective policies.
4.2 Activating trackers
Where these trackers require the user’s consent, they are activated only after that consent. Refusing these trackers does not prevent access to the essential features of Entraide Maritime, but may limit the display or use of certain external content.
4.3 Third-party service responsibility
Trackers placed directly by an external service are subject to that service’s rules and privacy policies. As far as it is technically able, Entraide Maritime takes care not to activate the non-essential trackers of those services before the required consent has been obtained.
Chapter 5 — Maritime advertising
5.1 Adverts
Entraide Maritime may display adverts and sponsored content relating to the maritime sector. At launch, Entraide Maritime favours simple, contextual advertising, with no complex individual advertising profiling.
5.2 Advertising trackers
Where displaying an advert requires the use of trackers subject to consent, these are activated only after the user’s consent. Refusing these trackers does not prevent access to the essential features of Entraide Maritime.
Chapter 6 — Trackers related to the AI assistant
6.1 Operation
The maritime AI assistant may use certain technical trackers necessary for its operation, for the security of the service and to maintain certain features.
6.2 Limitation
Exchanges with the AI assistant are not used to build an individual advertising profile by means of trackers. The processing of personal data related to the use of the AI assistant is set out in the Entraide Maritime Privacy Policy.
Chapter 7 — Consent and preference management
7.1 Obtaining consent
Where consent is required, Entraide Maritime lets the user choose between:
- Accept all;
- Reject all;
- Customise their choices.
Refusing non-essential trackers does not prevent normal use of the platform’s essential features.
7.2 Changing preferences
The user may change or withdraw their consent at any time from the “Manage my cookies and trackers” tool or any equivalent facility available on Entraide Maritime. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before that withdrawal.
Chapter 8 — Retention period of choices and trackers
8.1 Tracker lifetime
The lifetime or retention period of cookies and other trackers depends on their nature, their purpose and the tool concerned. Entraide Maritime ensures that these periods comply with the limits set by the applicable regulations.
8.2 Informing users
Where necessary, the period applicable to each tracker is stated in the cookie and tracker management tool or in the information made available to the user. Consent choices are also kept for a limited period in accordance with the applicable regulations.
Chapter 9 — External providers and third-party trackers
9.1 Providers concerned
Entraide Maritime may use external services needed in particular for audience measurement, social networks, security, technical features or other authorised services. Third-party providers and trackers used to date: no third-party advertising tracker. The external resources loaded by the map and weather features (OpenStreetMap / Nominatim, Open-Meteo, the unpkg network for the Leaflet library) receive the visitor’s IP address but do not place an advertising cookie.
9.2 Third-party responsibility
Some providers may use their own trackers and process certain data in accordance with their own privacy policies. Where consent is required, and as far as it is technically able, Entraide Maritime ensures that the trackers concerned are activated only after the user’s choice.
Chapter 10 — Amendment and entry into force
10.1 Amending the Policy
Entraide Maritime may amend this Policy to reflect changes to the platform, the technologies used, the providers selected or the applicable regulations. The updated version is made available to users on Entraide Maritime.
10.2 Entry into force
This Cookie and Other Trackers Policy enters into force on the date given in the information at the beginning of the document.
10.3 Ongoing preference management
Users can view and change their tracker preferences at any time from the settings or the management tool provided for that purpose on Entraide Maritime.
